TATTOO AFTERCARE
INSTRUCTIONS
Follow Our Aftercare Tips for a Smooth Healing Process
Classic dry healing:
Keep the bandage for at least an hour. Do not re-bandage.
- Gently wash using unscented soap 3x daily.
- Please use your hands and don't use a washcloth or loofah.
- Pat dry. Don't rub with a towel.
- After drying, you can apply ointment to your tattoo. We recommend Aquaphor or Hustle Butter.
- Apply a small amount of ointment to cover the whole tattoo. You do not want your skin to appear shiny or greasy. Repeat this process 2-3x daily until skin is healed.
- Once tattoo is healed, it is always good practice to apply lotion to the area every so often. We suggest Eucerin or Lubriderm.
- The above products are suggestions from the artists, but please check the ingredients for any allergen you may be susceptible to.
Derm Shield/Saniderm healing:
- Leave the bandage on for 3-5 days. This is waterproof so you may shower during this time without affecting its efficiency. Be sure not to submerge tattooed area into water such as tubs or pools.
- During the time the tattoo is wrapped, you may see some goo forming in between the skin and the bandage. This is normal, as your body pushes out any excess.
- Remove wrap at any point if you notice anything foreign has entered between the wrap and your tattoo (water, dirt, etc)
- Once wrap is removed, clean the tattoo and apply non-scented lotion as needed when dry.
For best results:
- Do not scratch, rub, or pick any scabs. Doing so can remove some of the pigment, leading to your tattoo missing spots of color.
- Don't soak your tattoo excessively such as swimming in pools, hot tubs, and taking baths. Getting your tattoo wet in the shower is fine, but AVOID SUBMERGING YOUR TATTOO FOR 2 FULL WEEKS.
- Once your tattoo is fully healed, always use sunblock with SPF-30 or higher when your tattoo is exposed to the sun for long periods. This will help prevent your tattoo from fading.
